StockTicker.net ("we", "us", "the site") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we and our service providers collect when you visit the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the website at stockticker.net.
1. Information we collect
Information collected automatically. When you load a page, our hosting infrastructure and our analytics provider may record:
- Browser type, version, and language
- Operating system and device type
- IP address (used for geolocation and security; truncated where supported)
- Pages visited, ticker symbols requested, time spent, and clicks
- Referring URL and exit URL
- Date and time of the visit
Information you give us. If you email us at support@stockticker.net, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message.
Information collected by third parties. Embedded widgets (TradingView), our advertising partner (Google AdSense), and our analytics provider (Google Analytics) collect information directly when those scripts run in your browser. See Third-party services below.
2. How we use information
- Operate, maintain, and secure the site
- Understand which pages and tickers are useful, in aggregate
- Diagnose technical errors and prevent abuse
- Display ads and measure their performance
- Reply to messages you send us
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run an email marketing list and do not send promotional email.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, pixel tags, and similar technologies for the purposes described above. Categories include strictly-necessary, analytics, advertising, and third-party widget cookies. A full breakdown — including how to opt out — lives on the Cookie Policy page.
4. Third-party services
Google AdSense. The site is monetised through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. For more information about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use Google services, see policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Google's broader privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand site usage in aggregate. Google Analytics may set cookies on your device. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
TradingView. Charts, technical analysis, news, market overview, and related-stocks panels on the home page are embedded from TradingView. When those widgets load, TradingView may collect information about your visit subject to its own privacy and cookie policies.
Other ad partners. Where Google AdSense uses third-party ad networks to serve ads, those networks may also set cookies subject to their own policies. A consolidated opt-out is available at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com (EU/UK).
5. Legal bases for processing (EU/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for advertising and non-essential analytics cookies, where consent is required.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the site secure, debug errors, and understand usage in aggregate.
- Contract / pre-contract — to respond to email enquiries you initiate.
- Legal obligation — where retention or disclosure is required by applicable law.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete data we hold about you
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent for cookie-based processing
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@stockticker.net from the address you would like the request to apply to. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on the request.
7. Data retention
Server logs are retained for a short, rolling window (typically up to 90 days) for security and debugging. Aggregated analytics are retained per the standard retention setting in Google Analytics. Email correspondence is retained as long as is reasonably necessary to follow up on the question and is then deleted.
8. Data security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the type of data the site handles — primarily HTTPS in transit, restricted access to administrative tools, and reliance on reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission over the Internet is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International data transfers
The site is operated using global infrastructure. Information collected through the site, including via Google services, may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the site you accept these transfers, subject to safeguards required by applicable law.
10. Children's privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Do Not Track
When your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we limit data collection to what is necessary to operate the site. Third-party services we embed may handle DNT signals according to their own policies.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the site, our partners, or applicable laws change. Material updates will be reflected by a revised "Last reviewed on" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
13. How to contact us
Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@stockticker.net. See also the Contact page.
