StockTicker.net is a free, browser-based viewer for stock-market data and a small library of plain-language explainers for the terms and tools that show up alongside that data. Type a ticker into the search box on the home page and the site loads a live chart, key statistics, technical-analysis snapshot, company profile, news, and a market-overview panel — all in one place, on one screen, without an account.
Who the site is for
The audience is the individual reader who wants a quick, ad-supported way to look up a symbol and a clearer picture of what the numbers around it mean. That includes:
- People new to investing who are trying to make sense of P/E ratios, market cap, dividend yield, and price charts.
- Casual investors checking a ticker mentioned in the news without wanting to log into a brokerage.
- Students and self-learners building a working vocabulary for financial markets.
- Curious readers who want to understand a chart pattern or indicator they have seen referenced elsewhere, or the difference between a single stock and an ETF like SPY or QQQ — see stocks vs. ETFs.
The site is not a brokerage, a research firm, a signals service, or a portfolio tool. It does not place trades and does not store accounts.
What the site covers
/?Ticker=SYMBOL — loads charts, statistics, and news for any symbol that the underlying data provider supports.Data sources
Charts, statistics, news headlines, and the technical-analysis summary on every ticker page are powered by embedded TradingView widgets. We do not maintain our own price feed or stockpile our own fundamentals; we rely on TradingView's infrastructure for accuracy and freshness. Quotes can be real-time or delayed depending on the exchange and the symbol — see the Disclaimer for what that means in practice. For a deeper dive on the difference between real-time and delayed data, see Real-time vs. delayed market data.
Editorial approach
Pages outside the home page are written in-house. They explain general concepts — what a P/E ratio measures, what a moving average is, how to read a candlestick chart — using widely accepted definitions and plain English. We do not publish stock picks, target prices, "buy/sell" recommendations, or short-term trading signals. We do not write sponsored articles dressed up as editorial. When something is opinion or rule-of-thumb rather than settled definition, we say so.
How content is reviewed
Every editorial page carries a "Last reviewed on" date near the top. When data, definitions, or links go stale, the page is updated and the date refreshed. Corrections are made silently for typos and clarifications, and noted in-page when they change the substance of a claim. If you spot something wrong, the fastest way to fix it is to email support@stockticker.net with the URL.
How the site makes money
StockTicker.net is supported by advertising — primarily Google AdSense. Ads are selected automatically by ad networks and the appearance of an advertiser on the site is not an endorsement. We do not accept payment to write favourable copy about a security, broker, or product. The full picture, including cookie use and your opt-out options, is on the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy pages.
